A statutory financial statement audit is the core of our practice. We treat the engagement as a sequence of concrete decisions — materiality, sampling, confirmation strategy, and how to word reservations if evidence is incomplete — not as a generic checklist exercise.
Who it is for
Manufacturing, trading, and service companies in Taiwan that need an independent auditor’s opinion for shareholders, banks, or statutory filing — typically entities with inventory, multi-currency sales, or related-party balances that invite scrutiny.
What you receive
A completed audit file, management letter on control observations, and an auditor’s report stating whether the financial statements present fairly in all material respects.
Scope
Full-year financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, and notes). Materiality is set during planning based on revenue, total assets, or equity, whichever best reflects the user’s decision focus. We do not perform agreed-upon procedures outside the audit unless separately engaged.
Included
- Planning meeting and engagement letter
- Risk assessment and materiality memorandum
- Substantive testing of revenue, receivables, inventory, payables, and significant estimates
- Bank and legal confirmations where applicable
- Draft findings discussion with management
- Final auditor’s report and signed management representation letter coordination
Not included
- Bookkeeping or preparing the financial statements themselves
- Tax return preparation or tax dispute representation
- Continuous monitoring or outsourced internal audit
- Valuation opinions requiring specialist appraisal firms (we may request management to engage one)
How we work
After the engagement letter is signed, we request the trial balance, draft statements, and key reconciliations. Fieldwork is performed on-site in Taipei when practical, or at your premises across Taiwan. Findings are discussed before the opinion is dated.
Timeline
Four to ten weeks from receipt of a substantially complete draft package, depending on entity complexity and how quickly confirmations return.
Location
Led from our Neihu Dist. office in Taipei, with travel to client sites across Taiwan as needed for inventory observation and interviews.
Preparation
Close the books, reconcile bank and inventory accounts, assemble contracts for significant sales and leases, and designate a single finance contact for PBC (prepared-by-client) requests.
Fees
Quote-based. Fees reflect entity size, number of locations, inventory complexity, and first-year versus recurring engagement. See the Fees page for indicative ranges.
